RSS is an acronym for "Really Simple Syndication," and provides a way for users to be updated on the content on a particular website without having to check the website frequently for updates. RSS feeds contain snippets, or previews, of news stories with links to the full text from the website itself. DYBA has devised a way to modify these feeds so that they do not contain news snippets, but rather important announcements about scheduling. These may include announcements on upcoming events, game availabilities, game cancellations, inclement weather, and other important and timely information. This information will free patrons from being forced to check the website, and thus missing out on some important information if they do not, as these announcements can now be delivered in any form a DYBA member desires. Tired of missing out on schedule updates? Not anymore!

How do I get RSS feeds for myself?

The easiest way to do so is to use a free, downloadable, desktop application to collect and read feeds. This is primarily your preference. If you prefer, you may download a desktop application. Many browsers, such as Mozilla Firefox, have RSS built directly into the user interface. For a list of applications of various varieties, none of which are associated with DYBA, please click this link. List of RSS feed readers. After installing your feeder as necessary, set your feed to link to the DYBA Umpires feed at "http://rss.icerocket.com/xmlfeed?id=6588" Why is this not a DYBA address? For efficiency and reliability, DYBA uses a reliable third-party host for our feeds. If you have any questions or have any trouble installing these valuable tools, please contact the scheduler for assistance.
